Overview

Job Summary

We are looking for a Finance Specialist to take ownership of day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a small but growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable being the go-to person for AP, AR, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. You’ll manage the core accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, and support leadership with timely financial information.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Daily Finance Operations

  • Handle full-cycle AP and AR, including invoice processing, collections, and vendor management
  • Maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Process payroll or coordinate with payroll provider as needed
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare internal financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summaries
  • Assist with budgeting and expense tracking
  • Monitor financial accuracy and ensure organized documentation

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and basic accounting standards
  • Maintain internal controls and support audits or year-end review with external accountants
  • Organize financial records and support tax-related documentation

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with leadership on financial questions and spending visibility
  • Support vendors, employees, and internal teams with finance-related inquiries
  • Help implement or streamline accounting processes and systems

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant work experience
  • 2–5 years of hands-on accounting experience (AP/AR, bookkeeping, or general accounting)
  • Experience in a small business or “solo accounting” environment preferred

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Comfortable owning accounting responsibilities independently
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with accounting software (QuickBooks)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
